The Kickstarter

From the Kickstarter:

After sitting on this for a week, I feel like Kickstarter is not the right avenue for the Dragon Wagon Food Cart and I am going to cancel the project.

The Wagon is working, it’s a success in less than a year, it is about to be profitable. I feel like the days of “Potato Salad Kickstarters” is past. So are the days of “Help our growing business grow”. I’m looking at people launching GoFundMes for medical debt and other struggles and it feels like I’m accidentally sending a message I don’t want to send to expedite the Dragon Wagon upgrade.

I have A LOT of gigs scheduled this season, some will stretch the capabilities of what I’ve built. But that was the intent here. I was asking for gigs, I sought them out, and people responded. I wanted people to try my food. They have responded there as well. I can offer sponsor scales and T-shirts for sale in other venues. I will still live stream cooking in the wagon.

Yes, we will have challenges ahead in 2024, but I have proven that this can be a success. The Kickstarter has been sitting strangely in my mind as a social “ask” and that is not what I want for this, for Fehu Games, or for the Dragon Wagon. I want fans to truly come on board in excitement and as partners, not as a charity.

To my backers, I truly thank you because I know you were on board as sponsors. I know you understand. To everyone else, just know, the wagon has delicious food, and we’re out here, doing our best and we want you to visit online or in person.
